10 reasons why you will want to start your own bullet journal
Most of you know that bullet journaling is becoming more and more of a ‘big’ thing. You just have to do a quick search on Instagram, Google, Pinterest or Youtube and you will see just how big this really is.
However, within the sea of thousands of bullet journal layouts and spreads, and doodles, keys, accessories and so on, you may not often see people explaining the reasons why it is important to use a bullet journal.
So, let’s delve into this right now!
1. A bullet journal can make you more productive
Do you have tons little post-it notes, scraps of paper, small notebooks, to do lists, notes written on receipts, etc hanging around your house? If you do, don’t be ashamed, we’ve all been there. A bullet journal can fix this though. Having a single designated place to write down all your plans, goals, to-dos, projects, future ideas, etc can make a whole lot of difference in your productivity.
How? Simply by being able to easily access your plans/ lists of things to do, you will be one step ahead of everyone else who tries to remember things off the top of their heads and way ahead of people who depend on lists and plans written on a scrap of paper that they may never find!
2. A bullet journal helps you be more creative
In the beginning stages of your bullet journal, you may be a little self-conscious about pulling out your bullet journal, especially if you’re using it for creativity and doodling. However, as time goes by and you realize just how good you feel by having a space to unleash your creativity, you’ll soon forget about those feelings.
3. A bullet journal can help you achieve your goals.
With bullet journal layouts like habit trackers, monthly spreads, to do lists, goal pages, self-care pages, etc, you’re setting yourself up to get things done and accomplish your goals! And with your ability to track your goals in your bullet journal, you’ve found yourself a wonderful little accountability partner to help encourage you to get there!
4. A bullet journal can help you on your wellness journey
Very often, when someone thinks of starting a bullet journal, they’re thinking of using it for their wellness goals. Whether that is practicing better self-care, losing weight, getting fit, becoming healthier, working on mental health and so on, bullet journals are a great way to help you stay consistent and focused on your wellness journey
5. A bullet journal can help you manage your time
Do you often feel as if your time just flies? You wake up, get a few things done, then it’s time to go back to bed? I used to feel like this all the time until I started using my bullet journal to help me manage my time. So, how does a bujo help you manage time? If you’re planning on using your bullet journal to write down your plans for each day, and consciously get these things done in the time you allot to get them done, you’ll find that you not only get so much done but, your day does get away from you. I always start my day with a list of all the things that I need to get done and a breakdown of how much time and attention each task gets.
Of course, I can do this on any old planner, notebook, or piece of paper, but, having it done in my bullet journal somehow helps me stay focused and on track.
6. A bullet journal can give you the chance to get away from technology
Do you feel like you’re always using your mobile phone, laptop, watching television etc? If you feel like this and you want to cut down on screen time, a bullet journal can help make this a reality.
When thinking of starting a bullet journal you may be a little hesitant simply because you may not be able to figure out how a bullet journal can help you improve your life. However, they do have some many great benefits and you should definitely try bullet journaling out to see how it works for you!
